I had a round baler 35 years ago. Had 3 tractors that would run the baler, those being a 560D, 656D and a 1066. 656 and 1066 both had cabs, 560 was open. For my opinion 1066 on the baler was like chasing flies with a 25 lb. hammer. Cant understand why anyone would want to burn that much fuel to bale some hay. 656 and 560 would actually out bale the 1066 as they were more agile. Now in my case 560 was the tractor of choice on the baler. My operator claimed, " you cant keep the dust out of a cab when baling, best to have it so it just blows away." I have to agree, would never want a cab for baling hay, a canopy yes. 656 went on haybine and 1066 went out to do some work that required that kind of hp.

You just cant have round bales costing $100. each, it's only livestock feed. Although I did try to sell a round bale to the banker's wife. I told her they were a hot item for those folks now 3-4 generations off the farm and have never experienced a quicky in the hay mow.
