Unknown year IH McCormick No. 52 Tractor Trailer with a Noble Manufacturing Company (Sac City IA) "Bolster Hoist". Distributed by Lindsay Bros. Inc Farm Equipment Milwaukee, WI. Hey all, I thought I would share what I got at an auction last Saturday in Macomb, IL. We drove all the way over there, about 200 miles, to bid on an IH 3082 3pt backhoe, which though I desperately wanted it, I couldn't get myselft to nod again after $2700. It sold for $2900. Shortly before the backhoe, they sold everything on one of the rack wagons and then said that they were selling the wagon as well. I have been looking for a rack wagon to use as a mobile supplies and tool platform while working on my house and buildings. They started bidding, and it went all the way up to $300 and I hadn't even bid yet. My wife was yanking on my pant leg telling me "Bid.. bid.. I have a feeling", so I put up my hand for a $310 bid. It sat at $310 for a while and then, what do you know, I got it with a single bid. Luckily, I still have my buddy's oversized trailer from picking up the 656, so we were able to load it up and bring it home. After about 2.5 hours of washing and cleaning, it ended up being a real nice wagon. Wood is great, and the running gear is in perfect shape. I am guessing that this was assembled by the company on the sticker "Lidsay Bros. Inc. Farm Equipment Milwaukee, WI". My thought was that the farmer ordered the running gear and then the dealer put on the hoist and rack.. is that the way it would usually have been done? Judging from the paint condition, it looks like the hoist was original to the rack and gear. Does anyone know how old a McCormick No 52 Tractor Trailer would probably be, and what the weight capacity would be on this thing? Just thought I would share the latest find.. it seems that IH stuff is being attracted to my barn lately! Darren
