I think Loko's suggestion is a good idea. When you loosen or remove that tube nut at the carburetor you should have good flow of gas out of the gas line. No flow you have blockage, if flow is ok let the tractor run until it quits and pull off the coil wire at the cap and have someone hold it within a 1/4" of a good ground.
You try and start the engine with the ignition on
and see if you have a good hot spark from the coil wire. They may want to use a pair of insulated pliers, so they don't get bitten when doing this.

You need to do this before the engine parts cool.
