Thanks for your reply, I took old & new gauge to Napa and they tried all sorts of fittings & couldn't find one to work. I asked what the nipple thread size was on the new gauge & they checked it to be 3/16 NPT. I thought that was unusuall as well and figured it to be 3/8th npt. But the NAPA guy said it was a 3/16 fitting that fit on the new gauge but it didn't fit the existing compression fitting on the oil line. So even after going to Napa I am still in the dark.
