Leon, In my Super C parts catalog there are 3 different pre-cleaners shown as being available as a special item for the SC. One is the common Donaldson glass jar type, another has like an inverted plastic bowl with a plastic base which appears to just be pushed on over the tube and a third one which is called a detachable sleeve type which has a base which is secured to the tube with a metal clamp and has a long threaded stud to which the upper parts are secured with a wing nut. From your description as a "clear plastic cylinder" it appears that the third one I noted is what you might have. The part no. of the clear cylinder is noted as 361 409 R91. If you have access to a parts catalog look in the attachments section for these pre-cleaners. Hope this helps and if you could provide more detail on the base and top I would be happy to see if it appears to be one of these units. Hal
