Diesel oil is far superior to gas only engine oil.It causes no problems. If it can go tens of thousands of miles in a big rig before changing,it will do fine in a 300U.I use 15/40 diesel in my 300U as well.Shell Rotella is probably what you are using.I have heard conflicting statements about its "premium" quality status over the years. Its more expensive than store brands, and Valvoline, and such, however I was told by an oil engineer once that Rotella was under the quality of even Valvoline or Amalie XLO.Some loggers swear by it,and claim to have no problems whatsoever.I would consider it far better than conventional Gas-only oil however. Some fleets only use 15/40,and dispense it in everything....Jeep Cherokees,GMC gas pickups (new and old),S10s,equipment,and have zip for trouble. Diesel oil has a lower ash content, and that leaves less deposits.Amalie Ultra/Super XLO is a synthetic blend, and that must be used on newer Diesels with EGR valves on them.
