I just came across an IH power unit that looks like an engine off of a Super A or Super C. It has a water pump and a block off plate where the hydraulic pump would mount. The thing that throws me off is that the manifold and cylinder head dont look like anything that Ive seen on a tractor, and has a cast iron spark arrestor screwed into the top of the manifold instead of a pipe and muffler. The serial number on the engine block is 45940, and the tag number on the P.T.O. housing is H-1230. I just discovered that the engine on my A has a cracked block, and am looking for another engine. Does any one know what this power unit is? Also, if I find that its any good, can I bolt it into my A? I tryied to find serial and identification number specifications for power units, but no luck. Please let me know if you can help. Thanks for your time. Steve T
