I am getting ready to sell my JD4020 (too big for what I need) and get a smaller tractor; 40 - 60hp range. I have seen some 454, 474 and 484 models that seem to be what I"m looking for. What I would like is those of you who are IH owners to give your gut opinion on these units, what to lookout for, and if there are any drawbacks (short-comings) of these tractors. I"m not familiar with the term "Hydro" that I have seen on some models. I know it deals with the trans. but I am not normally a fan of hydro-static tranny"s. Guess I"m a little old-school minded but just seems like something more expensive to break. But I"m probably wrong. So let me have it guys. What do you think?
