That is part of the pneumatic lift all system. No the cycl didnot carbon up. Mite have rusted because tractor was not inside. If oil was used as the manual said the piston would never seize. My DAD bought a B and had the cult installed brand new it was used from 48-62 wjth the corn and beans we planted it covered 300A per yr never had any problems did replace the o-ring in the valve assy yearly. Kept the cycl lubed and tractor NEVER set outside. You will never convince me these systems didnt work. I use three of them plowing and cultivating some sweet corn patches for neighbors just having fun using 60pluss yr stuff.
