I need to remove the entire brake assemplies from a 400 so I can flip the ring gear. I have done this years before, but I must have forgot something. I took out the outside row of bolts and removed the outside disk parts. I know there is another row of bolts behind the inside backing plate, but I cannot get the backing plate to seperate from the bearing carrier. It is breaking off in pieces. The good news is I can not get to the inside bolts but I need another backing plate and I still have the other side to go and don't want to break that side also. What am I doing wrong? The reason I am fliping the ring gear assembly is because it was reversed for a sugar cane loader. I have done this before years ago.
