Buddy Hafter you get the brake assy. of the plate should come off, don't know why not. But you have a lot more to do than just get at the bearing housing. You can't just bull the housing out. You will have to remove the lid. remove the axles and bull gears before you can pull the pinion housing and flip the ring gear. If the back plate is the hard to get out it must never been out. Just have to use pry bar a little at a time all the way round.
