I have removed the hydraulic pump unit out of the MD to remove the clutch. To remove the clutch shaft, must I remove the clutch off the flywheel and take clutch and staft as one, or can the clutch shaft be removed seperately, I tryed sliding the clutch shaft back but right now it is against the trans shaft. The reason for removal is that the release bearing carrier shaft broke, is this common for these tractors, it looks like fairly poor material. One more question, I bought the tractor and it had no starter. Didnt think it would be a big issue until I realized that it was a three bolt starter. Does anyone know if there is any other makes or model of starter that will fit, or will a 2 bolt starter off an M "fit" enough to make the engine turn over. Thank you for all your advice so far, Its been wonderful!! Cheers Matt
