If you go to an auto parts store, you can get an adapter for any automotive style temp gauge. When I need them, I buy this kit that has several different pipe diameter adapters in it. If you cannot find that, just buy the cheapest coolant temp you can find and it will contain one.

Good luck. It sounds like Gene B may already have you fixed up though.
