Hi Ryan , I've got 2 part's books ( TC-28 F & H ) that indicates that the suffix code wasn't implimented till serial #FBK 18158 . That would be in the year 1940 sometime . The book also indicates that the shutter was a " special " attachment for high compression gasoline and diesel engines and standard for distillate and kerosine engines . Hope this helps ....Randy
