At present I have it bolted to the two shoe holes which puts it a bit behind the blade. I can add spacers to adjust height just like with shoes. You could use a smaller or larger pipe also. But the smaller the pipe the more it will want to dig. I am thinking of trying a 4in. I don"t plow fast so I think it is strong enough. I have a spare edge and thinking about welding the pipe to it to have a solid weld all the way across with several small braces then just change edges in the spring. I dont do my neighbors concret drive anymore so I want something permanent for my drive. I don"t know if the pipe would hold up with a lot of asphalt plowing. If you go from asphalt to gravel a lot you might want to stay with shoes. Now I"ve got the idea of making another pipe with a row of old spike tooth drag teeth as a mini brush rake (pusher).
