More Hydro Stuff

So,

I pull the side cover, the pipe, the reverse check valve plug and the forward regulator. All seem just fine.

However, that control cam/variable orifice waffer seems awfully sloppy against the pump servo.

Should that thing have 3/16" of sideways slop to it? Just doesn't seem right. The whole control business seems excessively sloppy. How would it ever seal?

Am I on the right track or should I button 'er up and haul it to town?
