When I rebuilt it I replaced the needle valve, cleaned and checked the floats, etc. What I found is when it sat the cast iron body rusted some and I haven"t found a vat product the can get rid of the rust in the tiny holes. That just requires something like welding tip cleaning brushes. Real fine and stiff and lots of patience. I thought the same thing about the manifold but great suction tells me otherwise. Is it possible the bowl seal is leaking and causing this? Gas is seeping out there even w/tight screws. I shouldn"t have to restrict the airflow if I have too much fuel. Should be the opposite unless there"s too much air coming in somewhere else. If the breather were intact it would restrict airflow so maybe I have to put that together first. I"m stumped.

The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
