I have a persistent leak at my recently changed oil filter (using a Wix filter) on my fairly-new-to-me 826. What troubles me is that the surface upon which the oil filter seal rides has a deep groove. It looks like it was made there for an o-ring and the seal for the filter fits right in there. Is this groove a normal characteristic or should it be a flat surface? The old filter did not leak before (at least I don't think it did), but the housing did in a major way at the oil line o-rings, all of which which I replaced as well as the gasket where it mounts to the block. Can someone with D350 experience tell me what the oil fitler seal surface is suppose to look like? It could also be the filter, but it's hard to tell. I want to get back into the problem knowing what things are supposed to be like.
