I also have a '57 230. Forget the C engine. Manifolds changed when they went past the Super Cs. 140 has the same manifold, but I understand it is less HP than the 230. Mine has Firecrater Pistons (High Altitude). Don't know what the folks are offering you but it sounds like you may want to send it south and take the money and find a better candidate to start with....BobG in VA
PS: What's the serial # on that 230?
