farmall M hydralic leak

I have a farmall M that has a M&W live hydralic pump on it and uses the orginal resivor; it appears to be losing oil from the bottem of the resivor. what i need to know is where the leak is coming form is it a bad seal on the bottem of the resivor or is it caused by another problem? also what should i expect when I take it apart? Thanks for the help.
