A lot of the single acting cylinders (which I assume is basically what drives your 3 point, never been into one since we didn't use them) have a self energizing seal. The pressure in the cylinder forces the seal to seal up. It may be that it was a bit "bent" when sitting in the shed, and is now loosening up and working better.

As far as your weak hydraulics, no help for you there.
