It is not a difficult job. I had to remove the axle housings on my H to replace the gasket as it was leaking pretty bad. Here is how I did it, first I removed the PTO, then I reached through the PTO hole and removed the bolt that holds the bull gear on the axle, I placed a small wedge under the bull gear to hold it in place. Then I removed all the bolts that hold the axle housing in place. I was then able to slide the axle housing and axle out together. Replacing the axle housing was easy, as the bull gear was already blocked up in exactly the right position, the axle slid right into the bull gear and the axle housing into the hole in the gear case.
