Just about every old tractor I have changed oil in the rearend oil comes out milky if you have ran it recently. If you let it set for a while, then you get water first then the oil. These rearends are not reat tight and water can get it as well as atmosphere. So condensation takes place too. The thick oil just is beacuse it has been in there for a long time. I also think it may have a little to do with the amount of grease one used on the outer wheel bearings for 50 plus years.
