I started out using 15W45 oil and just changed it. Not sure what you mean when you say low ash? I was also using a lead additive and 89 octane. Do I need to quit with the additive and go to the higher octane? I have not checked the timming; however, I did find the fuel mixture way lean. I have bought the next range colder plug and will do a quick run and another comp. test (wet test) to see just how bad. Sort of hoping against hope that there was something under the valve, carbon maybe. Are you saying that it might be possible that the valve adjustment could be far enough out on just that one valve to cause it to have the 10-15lbs of compression? All of the things you have mentioned are cheap compared to the time and cost of another valve job, which may be where I am headed. Thanks for the help!!
