Farmall M Water Pump

Sadly i neglected to grease the water pump on a M i recently restored. A bearing in pump now continously whistles very loudly. There are two grease fittings on the pump. I could only get grease into the top one and most of it was then flung out onto the fan shroud. What is the difference between these two fittings? Also does this mean i should probably rebuild or get a new pump? Will a bad pump leak coolant? Thanks for your comments.
