Hello, I have a 1946 farmall H and it won't shift into 5th gear. It will go into all of the other gears just fine. When you try to put it in 5th it just kicks the shifter out of what would be 5th. When you shift into fourth it is just fine, but when you go to shift into fifth it seems like something is stopping it from going all the way. The shifter doesn't move as far as the other gears do. It is like a noch that you can't get past. When you attempt to put it in fifth and you let out the clutch the tractor moves a little and the shifter gets kicked into neutral and then you can hear the gears grind. When I go down my hill and coast then shift into 5th then let out the clutch when I get to the bottom of the hill it will stay in if you hold the shifter, but once the tractor goes under a load it will kick out of 5th. Could it be that something is in the way? Is it worn shaft/gears. And how would you fix it, where can I get parts. How much would they cost? And do I have to tare down the whole transmission? Also, how do you insert a picture? I have a picture of the gears and I want to show it.

Flax provided the fibre which w
