We've visited about this topic before.

Although those are really nice diagrams that William furnished via IH, they are just a touch misleading unless you're really paying close attention and I suspect that this is where the "rear facing outlet delay" rumor started.

The delay is really accomplished at that restriction "valve" screwed into the hydraulic line ahead of the cylinder.

Either that, or park a tractor tire setting on a hose. :>)
