IH 1 1/2 HP Stationary Engine What is it?

I am posting here and in the engine section. Finally figured out how to post pictures. It is marked: "International Harvester 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 HP srial number LAA64461". It has a reduction type gear box on the rear. I have found a few pictures of these engines, but not one with this gear box. What was this engine used for, and when was it made? I have other pictures of it to veiw if it would help. Thanks.
