Went down and started the tractor again tonight. It doesn't miss or run rough on gas. Switching over to diesel it smoked and ran a little rough for 30 sec, then sputtered for a few seconds then runs perfectly, no smoke, no loss of power. Last night I had to run it for 15 min before it sputtered and began to run right. Bleeding the injectors makes no difference, so I don't think the problem is in one injector. Also if the head was cracked or cracked sleeve it should smoke white all the time. I think a sticking stating valve makes sense. Is there any way to fix this short of pulling off the head? Would an additive to the oil or fuel help? Or does the tractor just need to be run more?
