NEW TO THE RED--SMTA

Although my hobby's in the past have been more concentrated around the Green, I'm a fan of any equipment manufactured 50+ years ago that still operates...regardless of the color. That said, I'm going to look at an SMTA this weekend, at least that's what they say the decal says. After reading several posts to learn a bit more about these, I have a few questions: Do all SMTA's have Live PTO & Live Hydraulics? If not, how can I tell by looking at the tractor if either of them is Live? If this one has the TA (it sounds like the TA wasn't necessarily built into every single SMTA decal'd tractor), and if it's bad, what kind of $$ are we looking at to rebuild it? Also, does it have to be rebuilt, or will the tractor run/operate fine without the TA being functional? Thanks for your time.
