i bought a farmall cub, engine stuck, could not free it up so i opened it up and found, 3 pistons with stuck rings and 1 valve stuck open. i freed up the valve and ordered rings and rod bearrings, everything else was in good shape. now the problem the new bearrings work fine but the rings are so aggressive that you can barely turn it over, so i honed sanded and polished the cylinder walls to where they are like glass, it helped a little but not much. you can push one of these rings in a cylinder with your finger and you immediately feel the cutting and grabbing, these are standard size rings and bearrings and the rings are definately the problem. and yes i have .020 ring gap. could these rings be defective? im at wits end and this is one cub that might not live long enough to grow up. thanks for any help RP
