What makes the hydro sluggish?

NO tools - Thanks for that info. I think that will be too much for my 14000 pound trailer. Any ideas what might be wrong with the hydro? I know it is difficult to diagnose here but it was working last summer OK. Now it won't hardly go after it warms up. To my knowledge, the oil and filter have not been changed in quite some time. Maybe I will try that first. What fluid should I use? Thanks J
