there is a seal there and it is leaking. the 90wt in the final drive is picked up by the bull gear and thats how the top bearing gets its lube. not hard to replace. you will have to take it loose at the tranny and remove the brake drum so you can pull the axle and get to the seal. The bearing and axle come out the plate on the final housing but cannot be removed until the brake drum is removed. mite want to replace the inner seal when you have it apart.
