Which manuals? My operator's and service manuals both show the bowl under the main tank. The starting tank just has a shut-off valve. My parts book indicates the same thing. If only gasoline was used, the bowl can be moved under the starting tank, and the starting tank as well as the main tank could then be used for gas and both would be filtered? I don't remember the last time I saw a functioning dist/kero-gas setup, though.
