I have an Instruction Manual for a W-4 printed 9-23-40 which was supplied with tractor number BH 2374 (1941). It shows the sediment bowl under the auxiliary tank.

In a later manual printed 11-8-46 there is a photo of the W-4 inside the cover which clearly shows the bowl under the auxiliary tank. However, further on in the starting up instructions an illustration shows it under the main fuel tank.

The Parts Manual shows there were
changes made to the fuel pipes to and from the strainer at Serial No.1129.
