I had one do that a few years back and The Tractor Vet has to cure. The washer trick did fixed it for me, but a year later I had the pto unit out - replacing the torsion tube - and could see that the arm coming up from the bottom was actually about to fall off. It just clamps onto the torsion tube (I think that"s right), anyway, Tractor Vet"s remedy should fix you rat up.
