The packer wheel is what drives the planter. It is probably all rusted up throughout. I got a mounted planter for my Super C. I need to get two new tires for the packer wheels but otherwise mine turns over freely. The old grease was pretty stiff so had to work it a little to get it to operate. A little WD-40 did wonders for it. Mine came with the checker mechanism for rowing the corn from north-south and east-west. I am missing the check wire but the rest of the planter seems to be there. It had been "farmerized" over time so I need to get a few replacement parts. I do have the parts manual for all of the C implements if I can be of any help with the planter. My e-mail is uncovered.
