It's worth the $$ if the rearend and transmission are quiet/in good shape. Clutch pushes hard on those if they don't have the hydraulic assist - you can add it later if you want, we put one from a 1066 on our 1256 and made a world of difference. The tube/cylinder is the oil cooler - oil comes in from the side and the coolant goes through the two tubes where it attaches in the front.

Cost us $6000 to have the DT-414 overhauled in our 1086 back in 1997...
