If you have a Delco 10SI alt., if the internal regulator is good, check for battery voltage at the #2 terminal[flat blade connector ] on the internal regulator. This terminal reads battery voltage for the regulator, & if it doesn't have battery voltage, it assumes that the battery needs as much charge as the alternator can deliver. If there is no voltage at #2 terminal, you have an open wire or a terminal end not making contact somewhere in this circuit.-- Between the battery & #2 yerminal. If this terminal[ #2] has voltage, the regulator is most likely bad.
