yes the new seals are thin and sometimes there is room for two. I get all mine from CAR QUEST as he is close and has overnite servise 6da a week. You will probably need a socket to remove the big nut on the front. Then the shaft will screw out forward. I have a bushing driver set to remove smaller ones but have found thqat different sizes of PVC pipe and even pipe couplers come in handy for removing and replacing seals pluss i have a lathe .
