Farmall C Not Charging

Hi, I am working on a Farmall C that I Can't get charging. It's the original 6 volt system with generator and voltage regulator. I've been keeping the battery charged with a battery charger, so I do have battery voltage of 6 volts . When I check voltage at voltage regulator I have battery voltage at all the terminals expect the one terminal by it self on the left side of the regulator when looking at it on the tractor. I replaced the voltage regulator but it didn't make any difference. With the tractor running I can touch the outside terminal on the genarator to ground and it makes a soft spark ? Is there a easy way to test the genarator ? Thanks for any help !

What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
