Roger, I was grinding ear corn! The previous owner had used the big 1 inch screen and I changed that first thing. I don't know about your mill, but it was a b!tch to change the screen in this machine. The next finer screen I have looks to be 1/8" or 3/16"......I'd bet you could make meal with it. Anyway, the feed I made is plenty fine..I wouldn't want it any finer. When I was finishing up, I shoveled in the loose corn (like shelled) and it came out the texture of chop chicken feed. I don't think my Super A is anything exceptional, just typical of the breed and it handled the load fine. Sure I had it wide open, but I don't think it really neccesary. BTW, some fella here provided me some basic info on these Ward's mills....that was how I was able to identify what it is. Mine is factory PTO and on the optional carriage...nice set up.

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
