I've got the whole assembly apart except for the shaft and gear. It's still tight and I'll need to use a press to get the gear off of the shaft. I'm thinking of purchasing a new shaft anyway since the key way is quite worn. I'm going to order a rebuild kit as well as the castle nut is boogered but good! All bolts and lock washers will be replaced. The tractor was supposedly rolled sometime in its past. I've found damage all over that supports this. I guess I'll need to keep an eye on ebay or give a call to Bates Corp. for a replacement steering arm. I think I may call the local Case IH dealer an see if they can source one.
