JayW - Not to worry! Farmall starters are "series wound" and therefore are polarity insensitive - they'll spin the right direction grounded either way. Delco alternator sheaves (pulleys) are easily swapped - just remove the nut and it should slide off the shaft. You can look check at an alternator shop for a smaller diameter sheave. Or if you have access to a lathe, chuck the sheave and cut it in half at the bottom of the "V". Then insert one or two flat washers between the two halves when you remount it. This will reduce the sheave pitch diameter (ie. make it "smaller") so the alternator will spin faster.
