Yep. I've hunted all over the place for an optical tach and nobody has been able to come up with one, so I'll be goin' with plan B.

We're just gettin' the first cuttin' of hay off up here. That's worked out just ideally, as I've got about nine hours of rake time on her helpin' out a coupla the neighbors. A good, moderate variable load, with lots of opportunity to vary the speed, too.
