Don: You said transfer pump, 560 doesn't have a transfer pump, or I should say, at least the Farmall doesn't. On that return line, don't know about the check valve, if mine had one it worked for 17 years without a hitch. Bear in mind that was 40 years ago. I can see the check valve idea, holding fuel from graviety feeding back to the injection pump, when tractor is not running. I do know that a diesel will not run if the return line is plugged. I had that happen with a Deere and a very similar Rossa Master pump.
