I am working on a 560 Diesel for a neighbor. It will run for a bit, then git real low on power, then die off. After it quits it will fire right back up and repeat the process. I have changed fuel filters, changed the rubber line from the 2nd filter to the injection pump(the others are steel) and checked transfer pump pressure. I did notice that if I removed the return line from the pump and put a piece of hose on it and let it return to a can it runs much better and it didnt quit. Someone said there is a check ball in the reutnr line. Is this true? what does it do and does it have to be three? Have you guys ran into this before?
