Well, I replaced the intake manifold gaskets, the fuel filter, and the fuel shut-off solenoid. The two front plugs look darker now, so it appears that the front intake gasket was leaking some. However, the engine runs pretty much the same as before. I have done a compression check on it and found the following numbers: Cylinder 1: 149 psi Cylinder 2: 154 psi Cylinder 3: 149 psi Cylinder 4: 155 psi I don't know what the correct value is for compression on a C-153, but they seem decent, as all are within ten percent of each other. I also left the compression tester on each cylinder for about a minute, and none seemed to leak down in that time. I double checked the firing order and plug wiring and each seems correct, as the distributor rotates clockwise. What else could cause it to miss and sputter when revving it up and sound like it is not hitting on all four? Thanks.
