Mike, I'm not sure if the hardware is the same on an H as on an M, I'll have to check on that. Those slotted nuts are called "castellated nuts" or more commonly referred to as "castle" nuts, and should be readily available at just about any hardware or automotive store. You might even find the springs you need at a GOOD hardware store.
One other thing, the nut is supposed to come off of the stud, with the stud remaining in the tank, but more often than not the entire stud/nut,spring assembly will unscrew right out of the tank. Don't worry about it. You can clean it up and re-install just the way it came out, or work it over, get the nut to seperate from the stud, clean it all up and install the correct way. As long as you get some compression on the spring, your tractor won't really care one or the other.
