I have been having a debate with a couple buddies who say that I should not be able to turn those wheels with the tractor in gear and the rears lifted up off the floor. In fact though, that is the case. As Hugh mentions, the wheels will rotate in opposite directions. Do I have a problem? I"m not sure. My buddies are saying "You should not be able to spin the tires by hand when the tractor is in gear because you will be trying to turn over the engine as well"
I may still be an old novice, also may even be losing memory, I can"t remember.
As for that noise, well I don"t hear anything untoward while spinning the wheels in neutral, or in gear, sounds good. I may try running it like you suggest with the wheels jacked and see what"s up.
